What makes a great song?

I remember when growing up in the city of Lagos, we buy lyrical books to learn the “wordings” of songs. After concluding my school assignments, I quickly hide somewhere preferably behind our 3-seater chair (lol) to memorize and mime these lyrics.

For me a great song is about the lyric and melody, which springs out inspiration, emotions and energy that makes one feel great. A good song makes you remember the wonderful moments of your life and it brings out the best of you anytime it echoes through your mind.

What makes it interesting is the way we ladies gossip about latest “soul-arresting” blues and the beauty of a song is the way we share it.
