Angelique Kidjo stole Christy Essien Igbokwe's hit song?

That's what Entertainment Express is reporting. They allege Angelique Kidjo used a melody from Christy Essien-Igbokwe hit song, Seun Rere, without permission.
African pop diva, AngelĂque Kidjo has a case to answer. Her song Ae Ae, from the album Djin djin sounds so identical melodically to late Christy Essien-Igbokwe's famous hit song, Seun Rere. Some DJs and those knowledgeable in music think that the near similarity smacks of plagiarism. They say she should have at least given credit to Nigeria's 'Lady of Songs', who died recently. Edwin Igbokwe, Christy's husband expressed shock on listening to Kidjo's song and hearing his wife's melody brazenly plagiarized.

I have a feeling most of us are thinking the same thing. -The Djin djin album was released in 2007, why is this news now?'
